The MARKITON Ceramic Printing technology is based on precise image reproduction using ceramic toner followed by high-temperature firing, which permanently fuses the image into the glaze.

This method combines digital precision with the durability of traditional ceramics, resulting in images that do not fade, wash out, or degrade under sunlight, humidity, or time.

1. Printing the Image on Decal Paper

The image is printed on specialized ceramic decal paper using MARKITON laser printers — A4-300 or A3-300 — equipped with a modified ceramic-toner delivery system.

MARKITON ceramic toners are used depending on the application:

LX — for souvenirs, pottery, interior tiles
FX — for photoceramic memorial portraits
GX — for printing on glass and mirrors

The printer applies the image onto EDP-series decal paper, which has a microfilm layer that holds the ceramic pigment in place until it is transferred onto the surface.

2. Transferring the Image onto Ceramic or Glass

After printing, the decal sheet is immersed in water.

Within 30–60 seconds, the upper film layer with the image separates from the backing paper.

The film is then gently positioned onto the surface:

Thanks to the elasticity and stability of the microfilm, the image lays smoothly, without bubbles or wrinkles.

3. Drying and Applying Decal Coating (if required)

If you are not using EDP-series papers and are working with classic decal paper, a decal coating is required.

Once printed, the coated decal is submerged in water, released from the backing paper, and transferred to the product.

4. Firing in the Kiln or Muffle Furnace

The firing stage is the key to durability.

Temperature depends on the toner and the substrate:
