Firing Temperature Guide for Ceramic, Porcelain & Glass Printing

Understanding and following the correct firing profile is essential for achieving stable color, strong adhesion, and long-lasting durability of ceramic or glass images.

Every MARKITON toner and lacquer is engineered for a specific temperature range, which ensures clean, saturated, and permanent results.

Fundamentals of Ceramic & Glass Firing

  • Firing must be performed in a kiln with controlled temperature and timing.
  • The temperature range depends on the substrate: porcelain, ceramic tile, or glass.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes — they can cause lacquer bubbling or glaze cracking.
  • For stable results, follow MARKITON’s recommended firing charts and always test fire before production runs.

Ceramic souvenirs, tiles (FX Series)

  • 150 °C — 1–1.5 h
  • 500 °C — 2–3 h
  • 860–880 °C — 1.5–2 h
  • Hold 10–15 min — slow cooling

Glass printing (GX Series)

150 °C — 1 h
400 °C — 1–1.5 h
550–600 °C — 45–60 min
Hold 15 min — slow cooling

MARKITON Firing Tips

  • Ensure the decal is completely dry before firing.
  • Never exceed the upper temperature limit without test firings.
  • Large items require slower temperature ramps.
  • Save and repeat identical firing curves for color stability.
  • Avoid rapid cooling to preserve glaze gloss and prevent cracking.
